Kirini

We design and implement long-term land use plans that are driven by Nature-based-Solutions with cutting-edge science, and local knowledge.

By creating solutions that work with nature, we restore the land, support sustainable communities, and ensure future generations thrive.

how we work

listening

You know your land best. We listen first, to understand both its story and the way it works

looking forward

We work with you to develop a long term vision for the land, using your ideas and climate modelling to understand the future of the land

developing actionable plans

We combine the knowledge you shared with modern science, blending Nature-based Solutions (NbS) with engineered approaches to develop plans which help protect the land for future generations

Kirini

The name Kirini is after Moira's tipuna ,Tame Eutahi Kirini (Thomas Eustace Green) a scholar of Maths and Science and collector of mātauranga Māori across the late 19th Century.

Tame was born at Port Levy (Koukourarata), Banks Peninsula in 1840. After the death of his mother, and his father, he was raised and schooled in NSW with his brother Wiremu and sister. The brothers returned to New Zealand in the mid 1860s to seek gold, and Tame return home to becoming the last Tohunga trained in the traditional wānanga.

He inspires us to fuse māturanga Māori, and experiential and generational knowledge with cutting edge science to produce solutions which are resilient, practical, and grounded in place.
